A convincing performance by two very gifted musicians, who met each other as pianists in search of the right sound. The Greek Maria Markesini is also a singer, and she has realized some important international successes, in spite of her young age, Her projects with Richard Bona and Bert van den Brink are two of the climaxes.
Bert van den Brink is one of the most notorious pianists and composers in the Netherlands, and winner of the nation’s leading Boy Edgar Award 2007 for jazz musicians. He worked and works together with an impressive list of artists, including Dee Dee Bridgewater, Enrico Pieranunzi, Clare Fisher and Toots Thielemans.
Maria and Bert recently released the album ‘Kosmo’, a mix between Greek folk, jazz and pop, with the participation of Richard Bona.

Jazz Maastricht Masters 2012 features Dianne Reeves
Dianne Reeves won 4 Grammy Awards. She will perform on the main stage, after Italy's best jazz pianist Enrico Pieranunzi.
There will be a lot of young and creative talent on the 5 stages. Leppinski 2, is 2011 finalist of Europe's most important jazz competition, Jazz Hoeilaart; Justin van Uum is the winner of the 2011 Eujazz Young Talent Award. Other interesting performances are a new production of Maastricht Conservatory, 'Nanophony' an interdisciplinary production by the team of Marie van Vollenhoven, and Secret Swing Society.

Jazz Maastricht unites what people have in common and thus stimulates new insights and experiences.
